North Texas Rod and Custom, Muscle Cars and Restomods
Those of you who know Jack and Jon surely know the story of how Jack gave this ’57 Chevy P/U to Jon when he was only 9 years old! Together they spent the next 8 years building this award winning truck. Jon worked on every aspect of the truck and in the process learned all the ins and outs of the custom car, auto restoration business. Today, Jon has put that experience to good use and is now an integral part of the business. He has been certified in paint and body by PPG and Dupont. He is now the President, shop foreman, and lead fabricator of North Texas Rod and Custom Inc.
Jon graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He married our lovely daughter-in-law, Becca, and blessed us with two beautiful granddaughters, Jayden and Kylee, and has another baby on the way. Jon is now teaching Jayden the ins and outs of fabrication.
Jon’s latest ride, still under construction, is a pro street/pro touring 1967 Camaro. It has a full 12 point cage, Fab 9 housing with 40 spline axles, spool, and aluminum coil over shocks, and is narrowed to accept 18 inch wide Hoosier Pro Street tires. The front suspension is a Fatman Fabrications Mustang II with QA1 coil over shocks and Wilwood 4 piston calipers with vented and slotted 2 piece rotors. The heart of the beast is a 468 BBC with Fast XFI direct port fuel injection. After market rectangular port heads, Comp Cams camshaft, roller rockers, mated to a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission and an aluminum drive shaft. 304 stainless steel exhaust system with X pipe and Borla mufflers. Inside will be a total custom designed interior by Jon, using Dakota Digital VHX 1100 series gauges, Vintage Air system, Corbeau race inspired seats, 5 point harnesses, all wrapped in saddle colored leather.
