NORTH TEXAS ROD & CUSTOM

I researched many shops before selecting NTRCI. Jack, Jon, and their family operate a fair and honest business, and just plan treat people right. We had good communication throughout the whole process, from start to finish, and even after our beautiful car was delivered. Over a year afterwards we’re still good friends, sharing information and an enjoyment for cars and trucks. I highly recommend them for your upgrades to your car or even a full turnkey dream ride.

North Texas did a great job on my ’57 Chevy Bel Air. Their team installed a triangulated four link 9″ Ford coil over rear end and did an awesome job. The team also installed a 700R transmission and did a great job. They also installed disc brakes front and rear with stainless steel brake lines. The crew also installed 2″ drop spindles. They were able to install a new Ididit steering column. The entire job was done in stainless steel. And to set it off a new gauge cluster along with power windows and a set of American wheels. Jack designed it all and it was way past my expectations. Thanks, and best regards.

I’ve been meaning to tell you, Jon, and the crew THANK YOU again. Some of my friends around the country and even locally have had bad experiences with shops and their cars; I’m talking some real horror stories of lies, over charging, swiping parts out, and even taking money but not doing any work. I even know a guy who bought a car on line from a well known car sales company in Southern California – they took $50K then said sorry the car was sold to someone else and wanted him to choose another car AND wire more money. Needless to say their website is no longer and several people have filed suit. Thinking about these experiences together – made me realize how fortunate I am to be working with NTRCI. You have been accommodating, kind, honest, and timely. Heck, you guys answer the phone and return calls. Sounds so simple but it’s not what many people experience. So with all that said – again I want to say THANK YOU again for partnering with me on the Camaro and being all around good people and operate a hot rod shop I enjoy doing business with.

My wife and I started looking in earnest for an old iron rehab specialist in Jan-Feb 2010 after securing funding for our project. Our “baby” is a one owner (if three generations in the same Family count as that) ’71 Camaro that was a daily driver for 23 years and had racked up over 200k original miles. Totally worn out, we parked it in the garage for another 15 years. When my wife interviewed several “rod shops” in our home towns of both the DFW and Houston areas, one stood out above the rest, North Texas Rod and Custom, in Kaufman, Texas. Owner Jack Ellison’s estimate was not the least expensive, but actually sounded the most reasonable for the shape the vehicle was in and the extent of the upgrades and custom work we wanted completed.
The three things that most impressed me about NTRCI were:
Jack’s willingness to accommodate our vendor source requests and to stick to OUR ideas.
Jack’s dedication to do it “right” even if it leads him outside his comfort zone.
His up front and honest appraisal and explanation when costs or parts exceeded his expectation.
North Texas Rod and Custom, Jack, and his son, Jon, would get 5 stars just for the quality of paint if for nothing else. That is almost always the first comment about the vehicle no matter where it’s seen or parked. Most are clue less about the make and model of a Gen 2 Camaro, but they drool over the paint. The late model Chevy Ram Jet 350 Fuel Injected engine, custom leather and suede interior, and Vintage Air heat and air are also most impressive!
